Grangemouth future's in the melting pot as options listed

A BOMBSHELL report has been published about the potential future of the Grangemouth oil refinery, due to close later this year with the loss of hundreds of jobs.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Petroineos announced plans to shut it last year as it is losing money.

Both the Scottish and UK Governments have been blasted for inaction over this closure which critics have claimed will devastate the town and the local area.

Sir Keir Starmer announced investment of £200million during the Scottish Labour conference, with John Swinney following this up with £25m.

Project Willow was published on Wednesday and suggests that up to 800 jobs could be created over the next 15 years if investment is made in Grangemouth.

It sets out nine areas for potential private investment in green industries.
