GPs on the ground cast doubt on walk-in clinics

A DOCTOR has spoken of his dismay over the Scottish Government's plan for walk-in GP clinics, branding them “inefficient”.

The comment was made yesterday at a Q&A session at the Scottish Local Medical Committee conference in Aberdeen.

First Minister John Swinney last month revealed plans for 15 facilities to be opened as part of a pilot beginning next year.

But that has been met with concern from senior medical staff. And that continued at the conference, attended by Health Secretary Neil Gray, when one delegate questioned the thinking behind it.
