Glasgow tops 'unhealthiest' road list

SCOTLAND'S unhealthiest high streets have been revealed in a new study, including one that houses 50 takeaway food outlets.

The Independent Pharmacy examined more than 400 high streets, each over 700 metres long, across the UK and ranked them based on the concentration of takeaways, pubs, sweet shops, vape stores and gyms, alongside air quality data.

Glasgow's Dumbarton Road, inset, emerged as the unhealthiest, with Scotland's biggest city dominating the top 10. The road, which runs through the West End and Partick areas, has 19 pubs, ten off-licences and 20 takeaways, with just a single gym.
