Festive rail chaos looms as works close 15 stations

FIFTEEN stations on a key Scottish route will effectively close over the festive period as a new railway bridge is installed.

Network Rail confirmed the work at Bowling will start on Christmas Eve. So it can take place, there will be no trains between Dalmuir and Balloch or Helensburgh Central, or between Glasgow Queen Street and Crianlarich until the project is complete on January 2.

It means there will be no services over the period for travellers using Kilpatrick, Bowling, Dumbarton East, Dumbarton Central, Dalreoch, Cardross, Craigendoran, Renton, or Alexandria on the busy Argyle Line, which runs through Glasgow Central’s lower levels.
