Far too little, too late for girls as gang sentenced

THE failure of people in positions of power to protect young women and girls targeted by sexual predators is a scandal which shames Britain. At last, the leaders of a Rochdale grooming gang have been sentenced to 174 years behind bars.

We hope their imprisonment will bring some comfort to the survivors, but this is very much a case of justice delayed.

Yesterday seven men were sentenced for heinous crimes carried out between 2001 and 2006 — decades ago.
