Ex-Met man casts doubt on banker's death theory
Scottish Daily Express
|September 11, 2025
A FORMER Met detective has dismissed the theory that a Scots banker was gunned down on his doorstep over a planning row 21 years ago.
Alistair Wilson was murdered at his home in Nairn in November 2004. Despite a massive police operation, the killer has never been found.
Now, former Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton has said Scots police were too quick to rule out a link to his work as a business manager at the Bank of Scotland.
Officers have previously said they believe the crime was related to a planning dispute with a local hotel.
