SCOTLAND is set to be sideswiped by Hurricane Erin, helping out with a prolonged drought that has drained the nation's water supplies.
The 100mph tempest has been pummelling the east coast of the USA over the last few days, with coastal waves of up to 20 feet.
States from Maine to Florida have warned the public to stay away from beaches due to life-threatening surf and rip currents.
But, as the storm curves away across the Atlantic, Erin is expected to degrade into a 'post-tropical' system, probably by today.
