Cup-winning boss Jimmy to get Euro cash boost

ABERDEEN chairman Dave Cormack has vowed to back manager Jimmy Thelin again this summer with a £5million European bounty to bolster his Scottish Cup-winning squad.

The Dons hit the jackpot by lifting the cup and guaranteeing themselves European group-stage football.

The win denies Hibs the Europa League play-off spot, now snatched by the Reds, with the safety net of the Conference League group section should they fail at that last qualifying stage.

And Cormack confirmed Thelin will get all £5m, with his own family also putting in £8m - although most of that will go on building an indoor training facility at Cormack Park.

The Reds have already signed Aussie winger Nicolas Milanovic from Western Sydney Wanderers for around £400,000 and are close to adding a goalkeeper and left-back.
