JOANNA Lumley has told how she was so keen to work with her Absolutely Fabulous costar Jennifer Saunders again that she threatened to murder her if she didn’t sign up for the festive special of Amandaland.
On Christmas Day, millions will tune in to see the pair reunited on screen for the first time in nine years, with Joanna playing grumpy granny Felicity and Jennifer making a guest appearance as her jolly sister, Amanda's aunt Joan.
Joanna, 79, said: "I've got to say, when I heard the notion that they were hoping for Jennifer, I actually emailed her and said, 'If the script comes your way, do it - or I'll kill you'."
They were so familiar with each other from playing best pals Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone in Ab Fab, that it barely felt like work.
