Constellation prize for stars of 'world first'

A THEME park carried out a “world first” stunt by sending moving messages to infinity and beyond — broadcasting them into space.

Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort invited people to post videos about loved ones online or at the park.

The messages were put on a custom screen which was launched from a special base in Sheffield using a hydrogen-filled stratospheric balloon and taken up 110,000ft - several times the height of passenger jet flightpaths. The temperature was -65C but the heartwarming posts included tributes to lost relatives and even proposals.
