Bren: Idah situation 'not ideal'
Scottish Daily Express
|September 01, 2025
BRENDAN RODGERS insists he was in the dark over Adam Idah being left in limbo ahead of yesterday's Ibrox stalemate.
And the Celtic boss warned the club must light up the final 24 hours of the transfer window or face more snoozefests.
Shot-shy Hoops were held by struggling Gers in a dire derby in Govan. Rodgers was already struggling for attacking options and was without Idah with the striker stuck in no man's land amid a move to Swansea.
The Irish striker headed to south Wales on Friday for a medical after the clubs agreed a £6million-plus fee and personal terms were met.
But Celtic pulled the plug as their bid to land Anderlecht's Kasper Dolberg stalled.
Rodgers admitted the bizarre affair is far from ideal - as is his team's prospects if chiefs don't get down to business before today's 11pm deadline.
"I've no explanation for it," he said. "It's not Adam's fault.
"Hopefully that will be cleared up. I haven't spoken to anyone. I've been in the hotel preparing for the game. I'm pretty much sure I'll get an update once we leave here.
"In terms of all of that, you just have to narrow in your focus on what you can control.
"Of course it's not been ideal for Adam or for the club but we still have to look beyond that.
"I think it's very clear what it is we need.
