STAFFING problems at Beachcomber Towers have led to concerns and even accusations over our vetting procedure for sensitive appointments, I have therefore released the following statement that makes it clear I had nothing to do with it and was totally unaware of everything that was going on:

The recent resignations of two scullery maids at Beachcomber Towers, followed by the sackings of their proposed replacements, has led to a great deal of unwarranted criticism. I should like to make it clear that I was totally unaware of potential limitations in the capability of Annie and Limbo (also known as Boo-boo) to be reliable waitresses, which were caused by their gastronomic disorders.
