Nice guy Marlon Dingle has been pushed to the limit by Ray - but did he kill the drug dealer? Emmerdale star Mark Charnock tells us more

'All he can see is ending Ray'

Traumatised teen April returned to Marlon and Rhona

He's the most kindhearted, gentle and mild-mannered of the all Dingles, but Emmerdale's Marlon is firmly in the frame for murder.

Viewers have watched dastardly drug dealer Ray Walters groom, exploit and threaten Marlon's daughter April, pulling the vulnerable teenager into his evil empire.

Now Ray is dead, Marlon is top of the suspect list alongside Ray's girlfriend Laurel Thomas, Marlon's wife Rhona, Cain Dingle, Ros Barton, Jai Sharma, Moira Dingle, Bear Wolf, Dylan Penders and April herself.

Actor Mark Charnock, who has played the loveable chef since 1996, fears Marlon could be the killer.

"He has lost all hope, he's got to the point where the worst thing he could possibly do, murder, is the only answer," says Mark, 57. "He's been reduced into this sort of single cell attitude where he can't see anything else. All he can see is ending Ray. He can't see any other option but killing him. And that's mixed in with the logic of it, if I get rid of him, maybe he'll stop. And also, the rage he feels over what this man has forced upon his daughter."
