Future of hospital shuttle bus to be decided soon
Runcorn Weekly News
|February 05, 2026
A DECISION on the long-term future of a hospital shuttle bus will be made 'in the coming months,' health chiefs have said.
The shuttle bus runs between Warrington and Halton hospitals.
Halton Council bosses are due to be briefed about changes to the service running between Halton and Warrington hospitals.
It had run since 2002 and was free to use for visitors and staff seven days a week - operating on a contract basis with local firm Anthony's Travel.
But 'extremely challenging' financial pressures faced by Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Trust led to the service being revised and a reduced timetable introduced late last year.
