Dedicated GP helped keep Valley healthy

TRIBUTES have been paid to a GP who dedicated all of his working life to looking after the health of generations of families.
Dr George Fleming Rhind Ogilvie passed away from frailty at his home in Crawshawbooth on May 24, aged 89.
He was a GP for around 40 years working at the practices in Crawshawbooth and Edenfield as well as Rawtenstall Health Centre.
His son, David said: "Everyone would remember him and he would remember them as patients.
“He was a traditional hardworking man and enjoyed his family.”
George joined a medical practice his father ran in Crawshawbooth on Burnley Road in the 60s and after his father died he ran the surgery.
