Sowing Hope: Punjab Govt to Distribute 2 Lakh Quintals of Free Wheat Seeds to Flood-Hit Farmers

In a heartening move to give hope and support farmers devastated by recent floods, the Punjab Government will distribute two lakh quintals of high-quality wheat seeds free of cost to affected farmers for the upcoming Rabi season.
This announcement was made today by Punjab Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister S. Gurmeet Singh Khudian, while addressing a press conference here at Punjab Bhawan. Dr. Basant Garg, Administrative Secretary of Agriculture department was also present in the press conference. He stated that this substantial aid, valued at approximately Rs. 74 crores, is aimed at covering the sowing needs for nearly 5 lakh acres of agricultural land that suffered extensive damage due to heavy rains and unprecedented floods during Kharif season 2025.
