Bhagalpur, Jamaat Ahmadiyya distributes food packets, clothes to flood affected people
Punjab Times (English Edition)
|August 22, 2025
The Bhagalpur chapter of Jama’at Ahmadiyya carried out food and clothes distribution drive on August 17 for the harried people of rural areas in the vicinity of the city whose houses got inundated in the ominously surging waves of swollen ganga.
The surrounding low lying areas across the city perennially face the wrath of the crashing waves of river Ganga during the peak season of monsoon.
"We routinely help flood affected people every year without any discrimination. This strengthens the inter-community bond, and fortify universal brotherhood and communal amity for which our community is famed worldwide," said the Deputy Ameer and president of the city Dr Faheem Akhtar.
"Philanthropy is central to Islamic doctrine and our community which constitutes minuscule minority in India never miss any opportunity to help people in distress, whether due to natural or man made calamities,” Dr Akhtar continued.
