AAP govt's decision to send SSP Varun Sharma on leave proves viral conference call video of the SSP was genuine : Sukhbir S Badal
Punjab Times (English Edition)
|December 11, 2025
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's decision to send Patiala SSP Varun Sharma on leave proved that the viral conference call of the SSP directing district police officials to stop opposition candidates from reaching the offices of Returning Officers to file their nominations for the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad polls was genuine.
Addressing a large public gathering at Kathunangal along with party legislator Ganieve Kaur Majithia during the course of which he exhorted people to ensure resounding victories for the SAD in the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad seats, Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said "a free and fair probe will indict the SSP and prove that Varun Sharma had taken the law into his own hands". He said the SAD on it's part would continue to seek legal recourse to ensure a criminal case was registered against the SSP and he was jailed for his unconstitutional acts.
