Christmas party for intellectually impaired

A group of supporters from the community hosted a Christmas party for residents and day visitors of the Polokwane Centre for the Intellectually Impaired Adults on Friday.
Residents entertain guests with a dance.
The 'children' entertained visitors to the event with dancing and singing, accompanied by music provided by supporters Rudolf Pretorius and Tobias Strydom. Gifts were handed to the staff members as well as all the residents and hotdogs, cold drinks and snacks were provided.
The convenor of the event, Lizzie Vogel said the centre, previously known as Polokwane Nasorgsentrum, was established in 1999 at 96 Dorp Street as a private institution where adults with intellectual impairment could find a home and a place where they are understood and cared for after leaving school.
