In wat as 'n positiewe tree vorentoe vir erfenisbewaring beskryf kan word, het Polokwane Munisipaliteit onlangs bevestig dat dié owerheid bewus is van die toestand waarin die Pietersburg Konsentrasiekampkerkhof verkeer en daadwerklike stappe beoog om maatreëls in te stel om die geriewe te beskerm.

Uitkoms vir kerkhof toe muni ingryp

Dít nadat die Federasie van Afrikaanse Kultuurvereniginge (FAK), ondersteun deur dié instansie se plaaslike kultuurnetwerk, die munisipaliteit voor stok gekry het oor opknappingsbeloftes waarvan dadels gekom het.

Volgens FAK-kultuurkoördineerder Charles Rademeyer het die munisipaliteit nou bevestig dat draagbare toilette en 'n wagpos vir wagte by die fasiliteit binnekort voorsien sal word.

Bourommel sal verwyder word en die terrein sal afgeskort word om dit teen betreding en onwettige storting te beskerm, terwyl 'n muur aan die oostelike grens sal opgerig en die bestaande heining en hoofhek herstel sal word.

Volgens Rademeyer waardeer die gemeenskap hierdie eerste tree.
