Two members of Perth’s King James VI Golf Club have received the accolade of Honorary Life Membership.
Two members of Perth’s King James VI Golf Club have received the accolade of Honorary Life Membership.
In the last 50 years or more there have only been three King James VI Honorary Life Members - with free membership of the club for life.
The recipients of the honour are Moira Lumby and Tam McLaren.
Moira, who joined the club aged 13, was twice Ladies Club Scratch Champion, Handicap Champion once and twice represented the County.
Tam has been a member of the club for nearly 30 years and is one of its most active and competitive golfers and supporter of clubhouse activities.
Lesley Keillor of King James VI Golf Club said: “In her twenties Moira Lumby held the positions of Ladies Secretary and Ladies Handicap Secretary, and later became Ladies Captain.
“Keen to share her love of the Island with others, she served as an active member on the Club's marketing sub-committee.
“She also held the position of Junior Convener, played in the scratch league, and when the scratch league folded, set up the Perth and Kinross ladies handicap league in which teams from across P&K now enjoy competing every year.”
