Scout speaks of his service
People’s Post False Bay
|May 13, 2025
A young Muizenberg scout showed his support for the firefighters who battled the Tokai blaze by donating food items for them on Monday 28 April. They were delivered to the Lakeside Fire Station.
Luke Pomeroy-Ward (13), a Grade 7 learner at Bay Primary School, represented the 1st Muizenberg Sea Scouts.
Almost from its first spark, People's Post covered fire that scorched nearly 3 000 ha of vegetation within the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP), and which was eventually contained, and the South African National Parks (SANParks) called for more vigilance from the public. ("Authorities remain on high alert (29 April" People's Post, 30 April).
