Reinstatement acceleration
People’s Post Constantia & Wynberg
|May 13, 2025
The City of Cape Town has accelerated its reinstatement efforts following water and sanitation works, with over 4 000m2 of streets and pavements currently in various stages of repair.
-
This follows the implementation of a revised reinstatement strategy introduced in November 2024 by the Water and Sanitation Directorate.
The new strategy, backed by the directorate's repair and maintenance budget, enables multiple work packages to be rolled out at the same time, improving turnaround times and addressing the growing backlog. Each work package covers approximately 1 000m² of roadways, driveways, and sidewalks.
