Saints boss backs Baccus to shine on biggest stage

Stephen Robinson believes Keanu Baccus will be able to make a splash at the World Cup for Australia next year.

The Socceroos qualified for the tournament after coming from behind to beat Saudi Arabia in June of this year.

Baccus became the first player to represent their country at a World Cup while playing for the Saints in 2022.

And Robbo believes history will repeat itself with Baccus in, or around the squad come the end of next season.

On how the midfielder has performed since returning to the club this summer from Sky Bet League One side Mansfield, Robinson said: "For me, he’s right back in top form again, he’s fitted in really, really well.

"And the Australian manager, I would never tell him how to do his job because he'll know a lot more about his players than I do.
