As we move closer to 2026, and Stacey and I slowly start to drift out of those strange days between the 25th and the 31st where hours pass in a haze of chocolate and food-filled relaxation, I would like to begin by saying I hope you all had a restful and fun filled Christmas Day.

Will never tire of Saints' triumph

Silver liningSt Mirren winning the League Cup made the year for diehard Buddie George Adam

Personally, I could not have asked for a better Christmas present this year than St Mirren winning the League Cup.

Some people in parliament may be getting fed up of me already mentioning the win at every chance I can.

But I am proud of my team, and I am proud of my town, and will let as many people as I can know that.

Christmas, for me, has always been a very personal and emotional time - enjoying the music and movies that you only watch at this particular time of year.

And the festivities with the family and the whole Christmas experience is something I never want to miss.

It is also a time to think about the past, family we've lost, and friends we've known over the years.
