Pleased Russell Findlay has welcomed the outcome of the parole hearing
Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay says he is “pleased” the Paisley man who threw acid in his face has been refused parole.
Mr Findlay - a former Paisley Daily Express columnist and MSP for West Scotland - was informed on Wednesday afternoon that the Parole Board had decided not to recommend the release of William Burns.
Burns, from Paisley, was jailed for a minimum of 10 years after being found guilty of the acid attack in 2015.
Mr Findlay said: “Burns has caused untold harm to many people during a depraved criminal career spanning decades.
“He has never shown any interest in rehabilitation.
