James Gunn, co-creator of the new DC Universe (DCU) "media franchise", has taken it upon himself to helm its first big screen outing.

David Corenswet stars as the Man of Steel and, thankfully, we dive straight into the action as there was no need for another take on Superman's origin story.

Truthfully, despite really enjoying Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and Suicide Squad, I was nervous for this as the trailers hinted at a humour-heavy tone.
