Students handed tools of the trade from fund

Students at a Paisley college were given the tools to succeed in their career path after a generous funding award.
West College Scotland received in the region of £14,000 from the John Mather Trust for the 2024/25 academic year.
The amount was split among the three campuses under the West College Scotland name - Paisley, Greenock and Clydebank-where departments received essential tools and equipment, helping them take the next step towards successful careers in their chosen industries.
The 'tools of the trade' programme aims to break down barriers for young people entering skilled professions, unlocking potential and supporting emerging talent.
This academic year's funding supported students across five departments: hospitality, hairdressing and beauty, construction, motor vehicle, and creative industries.
