Royal Mail urged to sort out post delays as missing letters reported

People in Renfrewshire are missing hospital appointments, bank cards and other vital information due to Royal Mail delays, a councillor has warned.

Councillor Stephen Burns says he has been inundated with complaints from Paisley residents who have not received letters for weeks.

People across the town say that, while they continue to receive parcels, they have not received letters in over a fortnight.

It comes as Royal Mail admits its is struggling to keep up with postal services in Paisley and across Renfrewshire as a result of sickness and resourcing issues.

PA postcodes are listed on the company’s website amongst those affected by delays in the run up to Christmas.

But it isn’t just cards and presents that have been delayed. Cllr Burns says residents are reporting missed hospital appointments are reminders for car tax.
