Proud of pride we have in town
Paisley Daily Express
|November 04, 2025
I do not need a panel of judges to tell me that Paisley is the town of the year, although I welcome the award. Paisley will always be my town of the year.
Collaboration Elaine Templeton and her team at Paisley First have done amazing work
It tells me more of something you cannot measure properly, the spirit of our community rather than the achievement because we have so much more to do.
We are proud of our town and that is a difficult thing to instil if it does not already exist.
Central to our current success is Paisley First - Paisley town centre's business improvement district.
Elaine Templeton and her team have been crucial in backing businesses and attracting new businesses to our town.
They also stood up for Paisley when our local council didn’t-like opposing cycle lanes that would have damaged local shops.
But anyone who loves their town knows that one award cannot hide how much more we need to do.
