New campaign to tackle underage drinking

Street disorder and youth drinking are to be tackled in a summer campaign across Renfrewshire.

Fronted by Police Scotland, It'll Cost You aims to show the devastating consequences that can come with buying alcohol for minors.

Officers across the local authority area are working with retailers and alcohol companies to drive home the stark message that buying alcohol for children, known as a proxy purchase, is a criminal offence.

It can cost people their job, a fine, a jail sentence or all three.
