A Paisley newsagent stopped selling papers to expectant mums at the town's maternity hospital because health chiefs wanted to charge him for entering the building.

And the move infuriated patients, we reported in August 1984. Newsagent Andrew Hislop abandoned his daily service after a hospital administrator told him the service was being put out to tender.
