Lazy writing kills this rocky 'requel'

Following in the footsteps of its fellow nineties slasher Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer gets the "requel" treatment.

A new group of friends find themselves terrorised by a hook-wielding stalker who knows about a gruesome incident from their past.

Little known helmer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, in her third feature directorial outing, and her co-writers pay tribute to the previous two flicks - too much in some instances - but despite a more modern, glossier look and vibe, her flawed flick feels old (slicker) hat.
