A row has broken out over bin collection calendars after Renfrewshire Council's decision to stop posting printed versions to households as standard.

Householders feeling 'scunnered' over move to axe printed bin rotas

Councillor Jamie McGuire, a Reform UK representative for Renfrew North and Braehead, has accused the local authority of causing “confusion” with the change.

It was agreed paper calendars will no longer be sent out automatically - unless required in an alternative format or there is a service change impacting collection dates - earlier this year. Instead, people will be able to view, download and print them on the council website.

However, the step has been lambasted by a furious Councillor McGuire who claimed life is being made more difficult for “scunnered” residents in the area.

He said: “The SNP administration in Renfrewshire claims scrapping the calendars is about ‘protecting the environment’ for net zero, yet residents are now being told to print the calendars themselves.
