Paisley Daily Express
|August 22, 2025
UK exporters to the USA anticipate their sales will expand more significantly than businesses selling goods and services to alternative markets, fresh survey data has revealed, raising optimism that trade will recover following the initial impact of tariffs.
Research conducted by YouGov has indicated that 45% of companies distributing products to the US remain optimistic that sales across the Atlantic will increase over the coming three months, in contrast to 20% for exporters to Germany and 17% for exporters to Canada and Australia.
The survey discovered that 27% of exporters intended to boost sales to existing markets overall.
One in four businesses exporting goods and services to the US reported they had enhanced sales.
