I got an attendance allowance form for my mum a while ago, I've only just managed to complete it, however the form is now late and I have since noticed that the benefit has changed to Pension Age Disability Payment, so will my application be accepted? Dol need to start again?

Employment rights and protections

Pension Age Disability Payment is the new benefit replacing attendance allowance and this has now rolled out across Scotland. It's to help with extra costs of being disabled or having a long-term health condition.

You must be of state pension age or older and need help or supervision to manage your condition (even if you're not currently getting that help).

This may be help with day-to-day care, for example, help with eating and preparing meals, getting showered and dressed, going to the toilet or help getting into or out of bed.

The applicant must have had the care needs for at least 26 weeks before they are eligible.

There are different rules for terminal illness and this process can be fast-tracked.

With regards to your completed application: as things stand, your attendance allowance application form can be returned in the envelope provided and will be passed to Social Security Scotland.
