Lasley admits bigger clubs will now have Saints boss in their sights

Keith Lasley reckons boss Stephen Robinson is bound to be on the radar of bigger clubs after leading St Mirren to cup glory.

The Northern Irishman's stock continues to rise after lifting the League Cup and building on three successive Premiership top-six finishes which included Europe.

Chief operating officer Lasley believes Robbo now stands equal - if not above - the club's greatest-ever managers which include Sir Alex Ferguson.

And he admits he's delighted, and surprised, the 51-year-old is still in position in Paisley.

Lasley said: "We all know the stats around football management and average tenures.

"So, yes, it is a surprise and, as a club, we're obviously very pleased about that. We have no plans for that to change.

"I certainly don't want to be out there banging the drum for other people to come and have a look.
