Distraught mum claims autistic son was mocked by staff member at school

A Linwood mum says she is outraged after a member of staff at her son’s school allegedly mocked the way he entered the building.

Carolann Denvir claims she was left speechless by the apparent incident involving 15-year-old Logan in March.

An investigation into the allegation, which concluded last month, failed to uncover any wrongdoing.

The teenager, who has autism, was undergoing a period of reintegration to the town’s Riverbrae School after an extended period away.

This was because of a disagreement between the family and the school in 2023 when Carolann was arrested due to allegations of abuse towards Logan.

Police investigated and it's understood found no evidence to take the matter further.

In order to get Logan into school, keep him calm and provide as much normality as possible, staff would meet him at the family's car on arrival while Carolann walked into the building and exited by a separate door to return home.
