Real-time road safety dashboard soon

The state government, in collaboration with IIT-Madras, is developing ‘Road Awareness and Traffic Harmony’, a pioneering real-time road safety dashboard, in a bid to build safer roads through data-driven strategies and community participation, official sources said Friday.
The initiative was the focal point of a high-level meeting, chaired by Commerce and Transport department Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, here Friday. The state government has undertaken several initiatives like monthly observance of Zero Accident Day, Come Home Safe campaign, deployment of Surakhya mascot for community engagement, and technical capacity-building programmes in partnership with premier institutions like IIT-Madras.
