|February 11, 2026
Former MLA Bikram Panda, who is lodged in Berhampur Circle Jail after his arrest in the Pitabas Panda murder case, was admitted to the surgery ward of MKCG Medical College and Hospital Tuesday following health complications.
Panda had returned to jail after receiving treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital two days ago. However, he was readmitted after complaining of severe abdominal and chest pain. He is currently under police guard and admitted to Bed No. 320 in the surgery ward.
Hospital sources said Panda is suffering from a gall bladder-related ailment, and surgery may be required.
