Low pressure over Bay of Bengal likely to bring heavy rains: IMD

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, bringing heavy rainfall across Odisha over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Tuesday.
According to the IMD bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over several districts of Odisha from August 13 to 15 due to the formation of this system.
IMD sources said a trough is currently extending from south Bihar to north Odisha, up to 1.5km above mean sea level.
