ISSF WORLD CUP: Elavenil bags bronze

Indian shooting ace Elavenil Valarivan settled for the bronze medal after leading for a good part in the women’s 10m air rifle final in the the ISSF World Cup here Tuesday.
The 25-year-old shot 231.2 to finish third on the podium behind 18-year-old Chinese sensation Wang Zifei, who won gold with 252.7, and Korea’s silver medallist Kwon Eunji (252.6).
Varun Tomar (160.3) finished sixth in the final of the men’s 10m air pistol competition after qualifying in second place with a total of 585 across six series.
China’s Kai Hu won the gold medal with 242.3, while the silver and bronze were bagged by Kazakhstan's Valeriy Rakhimzhan (241.9) and German star Christian Reitz (220.8) respectively.
