COASTAL HIGHWAY PROJECT

Reacting to the sudden cancellation of the tender for the ambitious coastal highway project in Odisha, which was to be executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Tuesday urged Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to hold discussions with the Centre and ensure that the project is executed as originally planned and without further delay.
Addressing a press conference here, former minister and BJD vice president Sanjay Kumar Das Burma said that under the Union government's ambitious Bharatmala project, a coastal highway of approximately 413 km was planned in Odisha, as announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
