Cops detain, interrogate seven accused; three still at large
A college girl was allegedly gangraped by 10 youths in front of her male friend on Gopalpur beach in Ganjam district Sunday evening, raising concern over safety of visitors at one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the state.
The survivor and her male friend have lodged a complaint at Gopalpur police station. Acting on the complaint, police have detained seven persons from the beach area and are questioning them. Prima facie, 10 youths are involved in the heinous crime.
