DCB Bank backs women’s path to self-reliance

In rural Cuttack, every drop of honey tells a story—of courage, cooperation, and change.

Across the blocks of Banki, Athagarh, and Dampada, 250 rural women have discovered a new source of strength through scientific beekeeping.

Under DCB Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, in collaboration with Concern India Foundation and Gram-Utthan, these women have turned traditional knowledge into thriving micro-enterprises—rewriting their own stories of self-reliance.

Between 2023 and 2025, the impact became visible and measurable. A total of 341 kilograms of honey was harvested, generating a value of over Rs 2.72 lakh. But the real worth lay beyond numbers as household incomes improved and women stepped into leadership roles.
