Wait drags on for McDonald's bid

PLANNING HURDLES REMAIN FOR PROPOSED FIRST KIRKBY BRANCH

MCDONALD’S continues to insist that its restaurant plans for Kirkby-in-Ashfield would have a “negligible” impact on traffic as the wait continues for the town’s first branch.

The original plans for the new restaurant, off Lane End and opposite a busy Aldi supermarket, were withdrawn in October last year after concerns were raised about the development's effect on traffic.

Proposals were resubmitted to Ashfield District Council with new access arrangements and, although a decision was initially due in March, no decision has yet been reached on planning permission.
