RENAMED TRAM RECOGNISES THE EFFORTS OF CHARITY FOUNDERS
KEY figures from two city charities say they are honoured as a city tram was named after their organisations in recognition of what they have given back to the city.
Marcellus Baz, of Switch Up, and Jill Carter, of Pulp Friction, were at the unveiling of a tram in their honour at the Wilkinson Street depot, yesterday afternoon.
Both charities work with young people in the city. Switch Up aims to deter vulnerable people from crime and violence, while Pulp Friction helps people with learning disabilities to develop their independence skills and gain employment.
Jill Carter, who co-founded Pulp Friction with her daughter Jessie in 2009, feels the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) honour will have a huge impact on many people the charity supports who don’t currently use public transport.
