Tributes after the death of radio legend John Peters

BOOM Radio and Radio Trent presenter John Peters has died at the age of 75.

Mr Peters has been described as a "radio man through and through" by Boom Radio, which he joined in February 2021. The station said Mr Peters died following an illness.

The presenter, originally from Middlesex, first entered the world of radio in 1974 when he joined a closed-circuit station for United Biscuits.

On July 3, 1975, he hosted Radio Trent's first ever programme, spending decades with the station and hosting shows such as Trent Top 30. Mr Peters also hosted the breakfast show on Saga Radio.
