Tribute to loving youngster found dead in bed by mum
Nottingham Post
|June 28, 2025
FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to a 14-year-old boy who died in his sleep.
Brandon Lee Barnett was found by his mother in bed on Monday morning at their family home in Mansfield. The circumstances of his death have not yet been confirmed.
Irana Jackson, best friend of Brandon's mum, Emma Tagg, said: "I'm a friend of his mum, and my kids were best friends with Brandon.
"We aren't sure how it happened. It was really sudden and unexpected. It's tragic. He went to bed on Sunday night, his mum went to check on him on Monday morning, and he was already gone when she came in."
Irana spoke of the "really popular boy" who liked to make people laugh.
