Paterson: We had enough chances to put game to bed at Crewe

NOTTS County were missing the clinical edge against Crewe Alexandra, with the fine margins frustrating boss Martin Paterson in the continued pursuit of consistency.

As is usually the case, the Magpies controlled possession, creating enough chances to score more than they did in their 2-1 away defeat.

The result continued the Magpies’ poor run against the Railwaymen and highlighted the inconsistency so far this season, with four wins, four losses and two draws from the first ten for Paterson's side.

They have had mid-table form so far this term, in part because they have not been able to find that ruthless edge to put teams away when they have control, as was the case at Crewe once again.
